Poopy in the Potty

So it's been a couple of months since Evan last pooped in the potty. For weeks I had promised him an Elmo or Diego cake if he did. So we're at my parents' house this weekend and my uncle was coming over to pick up Olivia when Evan went upstairs. He was in my old room holding his nose when I walked up. I asked him if something smelled badly and he said "Me, Momma." I checked his pants. Nothing yet. Then he started going. Quietly I whispered that we were going to read books on the potty. He said "No", but I scooped him up and sat him down. Thankfully "Going to the Dentist" and his monkey at the zoo book were on the back of the toilet so we read them as he finished the job. I was very calm and it wasn't until we washed our hands and left the bathroom that we broke out into song and celebrated with Olivia and my mom. I immediately called Acme which said we needed a 24 hour notice for a decorated cake. I just wanted the smallest possible thing and explained our situation to the woman on the phone. She dug up some Diego decorations and I ran over to pick up a small cake, then I sat in the driveway to decorate it. Here is the reaction...

I hope this all inspires him for future poops.

Weekend in NJ

It's so nice to be able to make some blog updates since we're able to use my ma's camera (we can't find ours right now). Here's some weekend stuff...

Aunt Ella came over Thursday and Friday to hang out.

Aunt Donna, Samantha & Olivia came over Friday afternoon. Olivia brought over her old Thomas train set(s) for Evan. We have about 3 miles of track and about a million Thomas pieces now.

Here's Aunt Donna sitting in the middle of a small section of the set.

Olivia read Evan a toy catalog. She also hung out with us the next day while Samantha went prom dress shopping. We hit the boardwalk and spent an hour in Jilly's Arcade because Evan loves the arcade more than anything else at the beach. That night I picked up Mike from Beer Fest in AC (he took the train there). Evan's Godfather, Dan, was kicked out!

This is my parents' birthday gift to Evan. He helped my mom set it up while Mike, my dad and I went out to breakfast.

Then Evan and my mom did some yard work. As you can see, Evan's a hard worker. When we came home from breakfast, Evan had his first pee in the woods. Thanks, Mike!

Evan discovered smoothies this weekend. He helped my mom make banana, strawberry, blueberry, peanut butter and soy milk concoctions mixed in the blender and he LOVES them. We call them milkshakes. Luckily Evan doesn't know what a real milkshake tastes like.

St. Patrick Day

Grandmom drove up on the Saturday before St. Patricks Day because she missed Evan dearly. Mike and I took full advantage of it by taking off and going on our little walking bar tour. We hit Coyle's, Murphy's and the Henry James and walked home very tipsy. Here's what we looked like.

Evan's like 'you guys are so lame'.

Here's Evan playing when we were gone. He kept dragging his chair into the kitchen, climb up on it and turn on the ceiling fan, freezing my mom out. But look how cute he is...

Visiting VA

Kelly posted some really cute shots of Evan and his cousin Jack on Jack's Blog

So cute!

And now for some Mima & PoPo stuff!

We like to call this shot "Present Mountain"

We had so much fun visiting Mima, PoPo, Kelly, Mike & Jack. We opened presents, played in the sandbox, had dinner at the Hops Frog and hung out at the Giffords' for Mike G's birthday. Here's some shots of "Christmas in March" where Evan opened up all of his Christmas presents from Mima & PoPo in front of the Christmas palm trees.

He had so much fun with each gift he opened that we had to convince Evan to start on the next one. He wanted us to take each item out of the packaging and put it together so that he could play with it.

I love this face. You only get this when he's completely thrilled to death.

Chilling out with PoPo the next day.
