Evan is psyched because he gets to meet his cousin Jack (and Uncle Mike and Aunt Kelly) this weekend. He asked me to tape this for him. I don't understand it, because he's throwing baby signs down the whole time, but I do know it is a double secret message just to Jack!

Until pitchers and catchers report to Clearwater! Hey, we are over the Bird's loss to the Saints the night before Evan was born. But Philly's winter sports teams are a combined 22-60-4 and have an outlook about as promising as Darfur. One of them just paid its best player 38 million to go away, the other's best player can't find comfortable shoes. The most promising Philadelphia athlete in competition right now is probably El Wingador. But we have the Phillies. With a 17 game winner, the NLMVP and the best middle infielders in baseball, the Phightin's are in a good position to make the postseason for just the 1st time since 1993, and Evan and I will be there! We will bribe Mommy to come with us with the promise of delicious ballpark cotton candy. That always gets her...

Evan's Big Sunday
Last Sunday, Grandmom and Pop Pop had everyone over their house to spend time with Evan. He is lucky to have such a big family that loves him so much. Here are the pictures of everyone who came over. In all the commotion, I didn't get a picture of him with Uncle Tom, Uncle Danny or Becky, so we'll have to make sure we get pictures of them with Evan next time.
We'll start off with a picture of Evan at the end of the day. He had such a good time, but got a little tired...

The Way-Back Machine
Evan's Big Friday Night Out
We decided to take our first trip out of the house with Evan to the King of Prussia Mall tonight. Big mistake. First, upon arrival, we pulled the folded stroller out of the car and onto the sidewalk in the frigid cold only to both stare at each other - we forgot how to unfold it and secure his seat to it, since it was our first time using it. We figured that out quickly enough, then the first stop was Sears, where we decided to take a look at the washers and dryers on sale. Evan was all "Energy Star, Schmenergy Star" and voiced his disinterest in the conversation with the appliance salesman via his diaper. So it was on to the women's bathroom in Sears, because the salesman told us there was a "Diaper Deck" in there. That sounded promising - "Diaper Deck." We had to walk through the lawnmower/tractor and tool section to get there. Must be pretty big and impressive! Steph went in to the bathroom only to find that someone ripped the "Diaper Deck" off the wall. Thanks guys! So we had to change Evan in the bathroom hallway, using two chairs we found there. Only Evan wasn't done - he still had to go. And he saved his best for last, Both numbers. Stuff was flying this way, that way, hitting the floor - Steph quite literally had her hands full, and this was all within 15 minutes of our arrival at the mall. After we finished displaying our superior parenting skills in the Sears bathroom hallway, we took off immediately for Nordstrom's. For their big winter sale? Heck no! Evan needed to eat dinner and we knew they would have the best bathroom in the mall for that purpose. In fact, they had a posh Mother's Room, and the three of us almost took a nap in there, it was so nice; plush couch, piped-in soothing piano music, it was worth the trip! From the Nordstrom's Mother's Room, we made a stop at Model's to see if they had any Flyers or Phillies jersey's that would fit Evan (no!), then a quick dinner at Friday's before heading home in time to feed Evan once again. So basically, we traveled 35 minutes in the car to nurse him and change his diaper in the mall. Does the fun ever end? I think it's only begining...
Evan on the Couch
Admittedly, I am biased...but he is so beautiful, I can just stare at him for hours. This video is only two and a hlaf minutes, however.
Evan's First Bath
Mommy and Grandmom started Evan off with a little sponge bath on his head. He's not too sure what's going on, or if he likes this...
The bath winds up with a massage, which he definitely likes!
Mommy and Grandmom finished by dressing him up and giving him a mohawk. Evan says he will have the last laugh, or toot, via the diapers he's going to give them!

Jack Attack
Evan's Cuz Jack is psyched to meet him. He's been practicing talking to him, and asked his Mom to help him. Here's a video. How cute is he? Check out more of his pictures and videos on Jack's blog.
Poppop's Birthday!
Happy One-Week Birfday, Evan!
Grandmom and Grandpop helped us celebrate Evan's first week birthday by bringing two delicious Mack & Manco's pizzas straight from the Ocean City boardwalk! And how did Evan celebrate? By learning how to suck his thumb! Although he's not too sure what to do with the rest of his fingers once gets that thumb in his mouth.
27 Days....

Aunt Brittany!
Aunt Brittany came all the way from New Jack Citaaay to help us out for the weekend. She got some serious Evan time, and he was happy about that. She even impressed us all by drinking the Philly water straight outta the tap! It was nice to have her visit, and after experiencing an interesting set of diaper changes with multiple bogeys (Military definition: a radar or visual air contact whose identity is unknown) flying everywhere, we hope we didn't scare her off and that she will come back soon.
Evan Loves His Swing Chair!
...or maybe he doesn't - who can tell? This little face isn't exactly saying "Bring me to Great Adventure!" but he didn't cry while he was in it, so we'll put his swing chair on his "likes" list for now. And if he's anything like his Mom and Dad, we should buy the bulk tickets to Wonderland and Playland on the OC Boardwalk now!
Naptime!
Evan Comes Home!
Evan Dennis
Evan Dennis Cronin blessed us at 10:59 a.m. January 14th, 2007, weighing a whopping 8 pounds, 11 ounces and measuring 20 inches in length. The kid already is an overachiever, scoring a 9/9 on his Apgar tests! He is also blessed with the best family in the world, as witnessed by all of our visitors at the hospital, and all of the phone calls we received. We love him beyond words!
