And more boating...

This time with Josh, Brittany and the rest of us. Evan says "Josh" now. When I was showing these pictures to him Evan said "Jos!" without me even asking who he is. Josh bought Ev a batman towel that has a hood. I have to get a picture of him (Evan, not Josh) wearing it.

We started out at dinner time with Captain Evan driving.

We stopped at Lobster House, of course!

Evan's eating an oyster cracker. He didn't eat much else this night :(

Back on the boat after dinner. Josh & Mike obviously have had a few beers.

So did Pop.

Evan's the only male on board who didn't drink.

Wait a minute! Just kidding our baby DOES NOT CONSUME ALCOHOL!

It's getting dark. You can't see it here, but the moon is actually red over the coast guard.

Here's my very, very Special Sister.

We headed home with a beautiful sunset!

Out on the boat

This past weekend was a huge one for us. Evan's first boat ride on my dad's boat! The boat itself is a few years older than me, which would make it 25 years old. Just kidding... it's much older than that. My first boat ride was at 2 months old. Evan's is at 19 months, but he loves it just as much as Brittany and I always did. We also had an incredible time at Janice & Bob's bbq on Sunday (of which lazy me took no pictures... I was too busy eating). There were tiki torches, smores, and tons & tons of delicious food. Evan, Logan and Zoe jumped on a mini moonbounce that's very similar to Evan's cousin Jack's moonbounce. Isabelle came later, but I think the moonbounce was deflated at that point. Those 3 kids (and evan of course) are gorgeous little ones. Logan has these adorable blonde curleys all over his head. Of course, there are no pictures, but I did gain 5 lbs from the night. We stayed until the end, leaving at 10pm. Evan pointed to the flattened mooonbounce on the way out and said 'Oh no!'.

Anyway, here are some boat photos from when we went Thursday night with just me, Evan and my parents. Evan wanted to drive the whole time, so my dad just let him. If we started to drift toward something, my dad would take over. Evan also enjoyed accelerating and turning the boat off with the key. We didn't teach him that, but it only took a few minutes for him to figure it out.

We drifted for a bit so that we could eat our picnic dinner. Evan mooched tuna fish from Grandmom and Pop.

The next night was pure shenanigans because Chris came up to visit for the weekend. Giddyup lil' Brittany.

Evan loves spinning until he's completely dizzy. No alcohol was consumed by this baby at the time. Also, notice my poor, exhausted dad after a long day of work.

Man time in South Philly

Be prepared to be blasted away by total cuteness.

Mike came home from work early one day to have a little "man time" with Evan. It didn't look promising at first since Evan woke up from his nap cranky, clinging to me, but thankfully it didn't take him long for him to have a great time. There was supposed to be some sort of free Temple U. event at Lincoln Financial Field, but that was lame so Mike took Evan over to Citizens Bank Park and bought standing-room tickets to the Phillies game. They both came home a little after 9pm. Evan ran into the living room in just a diaper and a shirt. he was literally covered head to toe in chocolate ice cream and he was holding a plastic spoon in one hand and a Phillie Phanatic bowl in the other. He immediately started dancing and he smelled like a mixture of chocolate and poop. Apparently there was poop explosion and Evan's change of clothes had gotten wet in the diaper bag due to an overturned sippy cup. Mike ran out of wipes cleaning up the poop. O well. I got a good 4.5 hours to myself and was able to mow/weed the backyard, take a shower, eat pb&j for dinner and update this blog.

Here's Owlie the temple owl. I guess that's the owl's name

The guys were give 2 free bobble heads. great.

Our true Philadelphia fan, Evan booed one of the players with the rest of the crowd. Another fan (who was also booing) turned around in his seat when he heard the cute little boo. Evan hi-fived him and pumped his fist.

Evan wouldn't let go of his ticket.

Playground time!

This is one of my all time favorite pictures of Evan.

Fireworks

yes, it was a very busy weekend. We ended it in South Seaville. There was a free fun night there, sort of like a late 4th of July. There was a moonbounce, a dj, free hotdogs and fireworks. Evan, my mom and I met the aunts, uncles and cousins there for some family fun. Everyone was there except for Mike (he had to work), my dad (tired from work), and Aunt Ella (working), and my sister (had to leave for NYC to work on Monday). Work sucks. I wish Mike was there to see Evan's response to the Hannah Montanna song. He started freaking out dancing. It was dark and all the kids were dancing with their glow necklaces, swords, etc. In fact all you could see was all this glowing stuff moving in the dark. The dj was on this big hill and all the kids were dancing on it, some rolling down it. Evan was in the middle of it and it was hard to keep track of him in the dark, but he flat out refused to let me pick him up. He just wanted to dance with the kids.

Oh ya, and free tattoos. This event was pretty cool.

Free glow necklaces.

Evan loves showing off his belly to everyone. Here he is showing it off to Aunt Donna. It all started because he knows it freaks out his grandmom when he lifts his shirt and puts his finger in his belly button. Gross!

Fireworks! Here' a boomer.

Here's a picture I took from the front with Evan saying "ooooooh. Whoaaaaa!" at the fireworks.

Jessica and I did get stung by an angry group of hornets that had a nest at the playground there. It sucked because Evan really wanted to climb up to the twisty slide. I swear that half of my hand went numb from that damn sting. At least it didn't get Evan. I still have an itchy bump left over from that event.

So that concludes our crazy weekend which included dinner with Colin & Avery, pirates, beach, boardwalk rides, fireworks and dancing with Sir Rod. Actually I think Evan is pretty lucky to have such a great summer doing all sorts of fun stuff. Mike and I are the funnest parents ever. hehehe

Sir Rod

I'm catching up on this stuff from 2 weekends ago due to 2 internetless/phoneless weeks. Here's the long awaited Sir Rod pics with Me, Evan, Mike, my parents, Mel, Dan, Elizabeth, Mel's parents and a bunch of Dan & Mel's friends. One of their friends had this little boy who was only 2 and a half years old, but looked like 4. It was amazing... I've never seen a child that age look so grown up - like he was ready for Kindergarten! Anyway, Mel made these shirts for Evan and Elizabeth.

Evan isn't missing a leg here. It's just tucked funny.

And now for some video. There's a lot because I couldn't decide what to post. As you can see it was one late night for Elizabeth, Evan and group. But that's sorta the way our summer has been going.

Here's some dancing with Sir Rod. Elizabeth was tearing up and even won a hula hoop contest! I entered and did not win. I'm not posting that footage.

Here he is onstage

Some late night dancing after a meal of crab bisque soup. Evan loves his soup.

and MORE weekend stuff

Ahoy, matey! We went on my dad's friend's pirate ship on the bay in OC. We missed the 10:30 slot, so we hung around and waited for the noon one. Then there was face painting, pirate hats and eye patches. Here's Evan getting his water snake tattoo. Then both he and his dad got some pirate facial hair.

The ship is arriving!

Evan's pirate moustache and goutee washed away pretty quickly. Evan's looking through the railing at the arriving ship.

I got a tattoo too.

Once on the ship, the crew told jokes, sang songs. One of the crew members was named "Evan" too, and he paid extra attention to our little guy. He's the one holding Evan in this shot.

We battled Stinky Pirate Pete by shooting water cannons as he zipped around our boat in small boat while wearing a skull mask. Mike got a little too into it and was shooting water in the hole in the guy's mask, so we got splashed extra hard. Once we defeated Stinky we found a map, and 3 keys (Evan was given one).

Then fished a treasure chest out of the water. It was filled with little toys. I got a set of orange fangs, which tasted salty.

At the end the crew fished out a bottle of Stinky's grog out of the bay (root beer) and we all drank it while dancing to hip-hop on the boat. Evan loved the root beer. Here's Evan dancing with a lady pirate.

After we docked and started driving out of the parking lot, the captain started flagging us down. We stopped and he handed me his business card through the window and said this "Give my love to grandmom and tell her to email me." I said "This grandmom?" and pointed to my mom in the back seat. He then said "Yes!" and waved and walked away. The pirate was trying to pick up my mom! Here's the shameless captain along with me, Evan and Evan.

After that we all had lunch on Asbury Ave. and got back to my parents around 3pm. Evan was completely bushed and slept until nearly 6pm. We had to wake him up to go see Sir Rod in Wildwood! That post coming soon...
