Noah's Baptism

This is video...

Thank you, everyone, for making Noah's Baptism amazing. We love you so much! Seems just like yesterday when it was our Evan. Not only was did Noah become part of the Catholic faith, but we were able to introduce him to the entire family! Thank you especially Sarah and Chris for being such awesome Godparents. We love you! Thank you too to Mima, PoPo, Kelly, Mike, Jack, Kate, Granny & Gramps Gifford for making the big trip and staying for the weekend - and thank you Mike for meeting the caterer! We know how crazy it is to travel with 2 kids - one being an infant. Joel, Arlene (who had to work, but came anyway!), Danielle, Mark... Thank you too to Mike's aunts, uncles and cousins for celebrating with us - it meant so much to us that you were here.

Thank you to my MOM and dad - you're the greatest and I don't know how I'd be able to function without you! Thank you, darling sister and Josh for coming all the way from NYC. Britt, your babysitting saved my life! Thank you Aunties, Janice and Bob... the food was delicious! Thank you, Aunt Ella for all the food and COOKIES (so delicious) and babysitting!

Thank you, Thank you, THANK YOU!!! WE LOVE YOU ALL!

Here all some pictures. We have none of our beautiful nephew Jack and niece Kate. Aunt Wanda said she took some with all the kids, so I'll post a Part 2 post with those.

So this is all we have so far. Noah with his Godparents...

And the rest is the after party! This is only the second craziest face Evan has ever made. The first is on Mike's phone.

When it rains, it pours...

I literally cannot keep up with the stuff this kid is doing. Time to baby-proof the house and lower the crib mattress - our boy can pull himself up! This happened on Wed., Nov. 24

I'm whispering btw because Evan is in the room next door napping.

I think Noah is cutting his third tooth too. I think it's that hard lump on his top gum I noticed a while back. At least I hope it's a tooth. He's been drooling all over himself again, soaking his shirts, chewing furiously on everything and he's fussy during the day. His drool smells like old cheese like the last time his teeth pushed through. I give him a bath and an hour later he's stinky again!

Also on Wednesday he started walking by pushing himself around on Evan's old push car/walking thing. That will be my next post!

Fall fun fun fun

I have to be really careful after this video was shot. Evan likes to speed around in 2nd gear now. He'll pretend he's going to crash into my car, then swerve at the last minute. I think he knows to be careful with Noah (and stay in 1st gear).

Evan shows off Grandmom's pink gloves.

Crawling Guy

Here it is as promised. Please ignore my voice and the dirt on Noah's face. You can practically hear Noah's brain... heave ho heave ho

Noah turns 7 mos!

Mr. Poopinstein apologizes for the picture quality. We used Daddy's phone.

When I say Mr. Poopinstein, I mean it. He's been pooping up to 8xs/day! I don't know if it's his teeth (2 came in on the bottom at the exact same time - just like Evan's did), but I called the doctor office twice about it and they didn't seem concerned. So I guess we'll just ride it out.

Month 6 had been a monumental month for Noah. Besides his 2 teeth, First and most importantly - on Sunday, November 7, 2010 our baby was finally baptized! I will hopefully post some pictures of this soon. If anyone has photos, please email them and I'll get them up. At least I have video coming soon.

We thought the day would never come and now we're scared that it did...

AS OF SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 14 2010, Noah has started to crawl! It's a slow, labor intensive crawl with frequent collapsing on the belly, but he gets where he needs to go. I will post video hopefully tomorrow.

For a while now, Noah could sit for long periods of time and if he started to fall back, he'd throw his hand on the floor behind him to push himself back up. Then he would go from a sitting position to his belly. He didn't care if he nose-dived to do it, but soon he learned how to do it without hitting his face on the carpet. So we would sit him on his hiney on the floor, walk away to do something and come back and he's 4 feet away, on his belly. We know he didn't crawl, but he did scoot backward and roll.

We knew he was close when a week ago he started flipping from his belly to a sitting position. We'd lay him on his back on the floor, go to the kitchen, then come back to see him a few feet away sitting up. Now he does it all the time. Then while trying to reach a toy on Sunday, 4 days shy of his 7 mo. birthday, the inevitable finally happened. Noah crawled. Mike was like, "Did you just see that!?"

Just today he crawled over to the cable box which sits on the floor next to the tv stand. With his feet planted on the floor, he put his hands on top of the box and hoisted himself into a half stand. He was hanging out for about a minute like that, with his butt in the air, staring at the cables behind the box. Then he let go with one hand and reached behind the box and grabbed the coaxial cable, trying to shove it in his mouth! Amazing!!

As for other stuff, Noah can stand holding on to a piece of furniture, without help from me for about a minute and can even let go with one hand for a second or two, then he starts swaying and lands on his butt. And he doesn't care if he falls. It takes a lot for him to cry. He's the happiest and friendliest little baby ever. He loves everybody and if you smile at him he'll smile and give you a "heh!" laugh. He's got an incredible sense of humor. He'll chew on my face, his eyes less than an inch from mine. I'll say to him, "WHAT are you doing" pretending to be stern. He'll be silent for a few seconds, smiling and staring right into my eyes, then roll his eyes up and away from me and starts belly laughing, then continue chewing on my face. We could do that over and over for hours.

He also loves scratching fabric with his little fingernails, like a cat. And he HATES being restrained. Every time I put him in the car, I have to give him a minute or two of "scratch time". I put him in the carseat and before I can put on the harness, he leans forward and scratches the back seat. I buckle Evan in while he's scratching away. Only then will he reluctantly let me strap him in.

Also, he slept through the night for about a week, but it was a total tease. He's back up at 3am wanting a snack with a big 'ol poop in his diaper. Fortunately, he'll go right back down, but then he's up at 5:45 am and he's wide awake with another poop.

Just a little Evan update. He was wearing his bath toy container on his head. It's a triangular mesh thing that suctions to the corner of a shower. He kept calling himself the "bad guy beekeeper". And he likes to crawl into Noah's crib while Noah's in it.

Happy Halloween, love us

We really know how to do Halloween over here!

This is how we greeted everyone at the door. These costumes. Free. Except for Noah's wig, which I ordered by recommendation of Aunt Brittany. The rest I dug up while Evan and Mike were at swimming class (Mike was learning how to doggie paddle).

What we didn't get a picture of is the jack-o-lantern Evan and I carved one really warm night when Mike was away and Noah was sleeping. We went outside and carved it in the driveway and played for a while before bed. The jack-o-lantern is on the second step, cropped out of this picture! I toasted the pumpkin seeds, which is my most favorite part of Halloween and ate them all in one night.

Fireman 2.0 with his grandparents. Notice he's not wearing the same jacket from last year. I found the stupid thing during swim class while I was digging in the basement for costumes for me and Mike. By that time we already opened the new one we bought to replace it. We already had the boots (Ev's rain boots) and 5 fire helmets to choose from. Now we have six and another fire man jacket.

The aunts, uncles and cousins came over early for pizza and some Rocky Horror Picture Show on Mike's new tv. Then we all went out trick-or-treating! CMCH is the place to be for Halloween. There were hundreds of kids out!

Noah changed from soul brother to chicken.

Check out Mike's costume. He's wearing the afro I wore last year, some beads (mine) around his neck, my sunglasses, a hippy shirt and some flip-flops. Noah was an angel. He loves that wagon! We take it to drop Evan off at school. It works perfectly for Noah with the seats and seatbelts.

The aunts take pictures.

And we're off to trick-or-treat!

Jessica and her friend met us in the middle - both dressed as Lady Gaga!

Here's the aftermath at our house where my mom inspects the candy bags.

Noah stays up late.

Mike and Evan go out for more candy. They come back cold and exhausted. Meanwhile we ran out of candy and had to turn kids away!

A few days before Halloween:

Dinnertime is always scary.

Hello, I'm overexposed... and still cute.

AND THEN WE DID IT AGAIN THE NEXT NIGHT. In a different neighborhood by my parents' house. We had the same crowd, but Sarah, Aunt Ella, Uncle Larry and Uncle Tom were able to join us too. There were some incredible haunted house stuff. I'm talking evil laboratories, robotic skeletons that speak to you and know your name. We're going to have to step it up a bit at our house next year for Evan. He's really into that scary stuff.

Evan destroyed everyone's nice, neat leaf piles.

No costumes for me and Mike this time.

There was an afterparty at my parents' house. We went back for sandwiches, CANDY and the kids got their annual Halloween pineapples from my mom. Olivia got a pomegranate since pineapple hurts her mouth.
