Evan playing in the snow

Mike's office was closed today. He started out on a business day trip to nyc and had to turn around and come home. Evan and I were so happy he was able to spend the day with us. In the morning I walked to Starbucks in a winter wonderland to get coffee for me and Papa. Here are some highlights of our day. After playing in the snow, Mike made us banana, walnut, chocolate & peanut butter chip pancakes for dinner. Yay!

Notice my beautiful Alpaca fur scarf courtesy of the Giffords? It matches my gloves... well glove (i lost one. that's why I'm wearing astronaut gloves here)

Yellow snow- yum!

Here's our awesome snowman. So crappy. Mike did make some crazy thing that was 4 snowman heads high, but Evan knocked it over.

Polar Bear

Ya so guess what Mike did with his buddies? Jump into freezing cold ocean in spandex shorts. I picked up Mike after a full day of drinking at around 9pm at La Costa in Sea Isle. I see my baby's daddy behind the empty polar bear tent wearing gray and orange spandex shorts, white socks and sneakers and a Wildwood lifeguard jacket. We stop for a drink at the OD (where I got a seltzer and lime). It was freezing, but Mike wanted to walk on the boardwalk - which we did. Then he wanted to walk on the beach - which we didn't. He then walked in on a private party in a coffee shop and tried to steal some lady's bag of cheese curls.

O dear Lord.

Nothing wraps up a Polar Bear swim like holding a wrestling belt. I have no idea what's going on here, but it's worth a post.

Last weekend...

We went to NJ to visit Mike who was in AC for a College Board event. Evan attended the reception and smoozed the college representatives, well the girls anyway. We all had dinner at the Tun Tavern with Mike's colleagues. Evan and I stayed the night, got breakfast in the hotel restaurant and then swam in the indoor hotel pool the next day. My mom stopped by the hotel to hang with Evan while he napped while Mike and I checked out the outlets. All three of us spent the rest of the weekend with my parents and sister. We all went to the boardwalk for Mack and Mancos (of course), Mike took his Polar Bear Plunge, and we ended our weekend in Cape May, checking out wedding locations. My parents and sis went with us... Here are some pics of dinner out one night, but I have to get the pictures off my mom's camera and post them too because they're so funny!

Here are some pretty Grandmom shots

strawberry Syrup

Here's a little Ziggy update. Evan gives kisses on command! There's this little "Elmo Loves You" book that Mima gave him way back that we've been reading a lot and at the end Elmo asks for a kiss. I would kiss him and ask Evan to do the same and he did. Now he does it to me, his dad, his dog stuffed animal - everybody. Also he barks every time he hears a dog, which is often at our house which is surrounded by dogs. It sounds like "roof", but replacing the "r" with a "w". He gets confused and barks when he sees bunnies or birds. o well. here are some images of when Evan was playing with the strawberry syrup. Enjoy!

Then I fixed his hair...

In his defense, he was drunk.

The funniest thing is that Evan likes to "clean". He'll take a paper towel, his sleave or hand and wipe up water or messes. He likes to polish the dishwasher. Look at these beautiful little red feet! So tasty.

ziggy updates

So here's the latest on our baby boy. He's been taking steps! He hasn't just taken off, but he takes steps now and again. He still really prefers to crawl because he gets where he wants to go much faster that way, but hey! Also, Ziggy loves oranges. Last week it was blueberries and grapes and he couldn't get enough of them. I think he ate a little too much and now he only tolerates them. However, he'll eat a whole orange now, no problem. He's been completely sleeping through the night and goes down for his naps instantly. He'll answer "yes" to your questions (although, I don't think he understands what 'yes' means). He says "banana". When you ask what the doggy says he replies "woof". Sometimes he'll hiss when you ask him what the snake says and he'll growl when you ask him what a tiger says. He loves to push his trucks around and make engine noises as he's doing it. He loves his 'mommy and me' classes, especially any of the exercises that involve the parachute. Even though the kids are a bit older, he gets along with everyone- today he wrestled with another kid and they were cracking up. so cute! oh yeah... the back of his head is curly now. I'm never going to cut it. He'll look like Kate Hudson's kid. Just kidding... I won't go that far. Also, today the girl at Starbucks gave me a FREE piece of low-fat lemon raspberry cake because Evan is beautiful and made eyes at her. Not a sample, a whole piece! Thank you, Evan.

Here's a superbowl pic before we visited our neighbors during the big game. Guess who won Mike's superbowl prop thing - ME! I better get a good prize.

and last year... awwww!

woof!
