Orlando - day 1

Let me just start this entry to tell you a very cute story. It's our first full day after our vacation (we got home yesterday afternoon) and Evan and I walked to the park today after I bought him soft pretzel nuggets down the street. I also brought a half-eaten banana which was sitting on top of his stroller. So we're both eating pretzel nuggets and this cute little squirrel comes up. I threw a nugget and he grabbed it and ate it. Then he kept coming back for more. He actually rested his little hands on my finger as he grabbed the pieces. Then he stole Evan's pretzel right out of his hand! I taught Evan how to hold the food out and let the squirrel grab itfrom him. I'm not kidding the squirrel was practically sitting on my lap. It was great until the squirrel jumped on top of the stroller and grabbed Evan's banana. Evan kept pointing at the squirrel yelling "NA-nana! NA-nana!" Evan hasn't quite grasped the "b" of the word banana. I tried annunciating the "b", hoping he'll get it, but instead he treats it like two separate words "Buh! Buh!.......... NA-nana." O yes... And here are pictures of our first day in Orlando. Mike summed it up saying it was sad leaving on Easter Sunday. Completely sad until we all jumped in the pool (1 of the 4 pools) at our awesome, free resort. Here's our beautiful baby living the life...

But first notice Evan's very, very first Easter

Evan's attire on Easter last year:

Easter this year!

Here we are checking in. Our plane got in 1-ish, but after getting the rental car, checking in, exploring the resort, etc... we didn't hit the pool until around 4pm.

This sign was right across from our room.

We didn't waste anytime getting into the pool.

Then we hung out at the playground.

Aw. Baby tired.

So Mike and Evan hung out on the hammock while Momma rustled up some pizza for dinner.

There I am with dinner walking up the path.

And this is what I find...

So that concludes day 1. Stay tuned for Disney shots.

Orlando- Day 2

Day 2 was spent in Downtown Disney, which isn't a park, but loads of stores and restaurants plus some amusements like Cirque du Solie and some VR stuff. We saw Lego sculptures, ate candy, and strolled around until Mike had to go to work.

Here's us getting ready at the hotel. Evan must've REALLY had to use the bathroom here. hehehe. Actually, he's pooped in the potty twice now (not in Florida though).

Here we are having lunch at an Irish themed restaurant. All 3 of dined on fish n chips and peas (I had to force Mike to eat his peas). Evan added cherrios to the mix too.

We hit some rides too...

Evan ate some gummi worms. He's wearing his "Mr. Funny" shirt.

Here's Ev on the carousel...

Orlando - day 3

This is out of order because Mike wanted me to put this post at the top. So anyway, day 3 Evan and I took the shuttle then a little ferry to Disney's boardwalk and hung out until Mike was done work. After that we went to the Magic Kingdom! I put the boardwalk pics at the bottom because the actual Disney photos are so cute.

Here we are!

As cheesy as it sounds, I actually started crying when we arrived at the magic kingdom. It's my 7th time and I have so many incredible memories of it going with my family when I was a kid. My first time I was 2 years old and we drove down. The second time I was 7 (Brittany was 3) and we drove to VA and took the auto train, which was awesome... Now I'm taking MY son. Incredible! He's been to so many places in his short life - Virginia & NJ (of course!), New York City, Key West, Orlando... and we're coming back in July. What a lucky guy! too bad he won't remember a thing...

Evan met the characters... He still talks about Donald Duck, but he had a huge reaction to Mickey the next day.

Baby boy LOVED "It's a Small World". I cried. again.

At the end of the night, Evan was beat. We put his jammies on in the park and got him home for a 10:30 bedtime. What a day!

Ev on the boardwalk (from earlier in the day)

Orlando - day 4

Day 4 we went back to the magic kingdom. We headed right over to adventure land to see the tiki birds and the pirates of the caribbean rides. We then went on to Country Bear Jamboree (which hasn't changed much since I was little... Ev was a little bored), it's a small world again and then visited Mickey Mouse at Toontown. We stayed until about 9:30 and barely got to see anything, but such is life when you have a 14-month old.

Here's Evan and Mike after the Pirates ride. I was worried it would be a bit scary for the boy, but it was cool. He was fascinated with the fire scene. We stood in line for about an hour, but it was so worth it! I'm so lucky I had raisins handy because they kept Evan busy.

Arrrr!

The mark on Evan's nose is a rug burn from falling off the bed in the hotel. Poor little guy...

Here we are in line for It's a small world...

And Mickey Mouse!!

We ended both nights watching the parade, which was amazing btw. Evan has obviously had enough.

Again we loaded Evan on the shuttle at the end of the night sound asleep. zzzz
