I started feeling contractions around 5:30 Saturday morning. They were pretty regular, but nothing terribly painful. Our home inspection just so happened to be on the same day so Mike had to drive down to the new home and my mom drove up to Philly to babysit me and Evan. The contractions seemed to taper off a bit by midday. So I mowed the backyard and weeded. I also removed poison ivy that was strangling our stone wall and the big pine tree. Oops didn't know it was poison at the time. By the time I came back inside I was contracting every 4 minutes, then 10 minutes, then 12 minutes. Totally irregular so I figured that I would probably go into active labor the next day.. or the next. Mike came home around 8pm and the contractions ramped up and got pretty painful. I went up to take a shower and could barely do it. From there I knew we had to get out. We arrived at the hospital around 10:30 with me 6 cm dilated pleading with every hospital employee for an epidural. I couldn't even register so nobody new my name. It was the worst. I was like a wild animal telling the nurses to "stop touching me!". The epidural made everything awesome and after a short snooze I was ready to push! I pushed for less than 5 minutes and there he was! Meanwhile Aunt Genie, Jessica and my sister had arrived at our house and Aunt Wanda was in the waiting room (she got some good video of my boobs after Noah popped out - I apologize to Mike's parents who have already seen it and also for anything they may have seen while visiting me and Noah in the hospital :)
So our boy arrived at 2:28 am Sunday, April 18. He was 7 lbs. 11oz. and was 21 inches long. One of the 2 most beautiful babies you've ever seen!

Mike wasn't allowed to stay at the hospital... This is the day I left. My poor Evan really missed me a lot. I cried to be home with him! He's not feeling good here and was on a 3 day hunger strike.
