Baby Sandocia at 20 weeks

I hope my two boys will be best friends! Awww... I tell Evan that all the time and he gets this huge smile on his face. Then I have to quickly add "When Sandocia gets older... because at first all he's going to do is sleep, cry, poop, pee and eat!"

Isn't this great that I'm updating this blog again? It's all due to cabin fever and being holed up indoors too long from these crazy snow storms. Evan and I were out for this morning while Mike worked in the house (there's no way he's making it to the office!) Evan likes to shovel out other people's cars and sidewalks, but not ours. Plus he likes hanging out with Brandon out there. We came in soaking wet and starving. The last few times Mike took Evan out. Ev definitely enjoys going out with Mike more. Mike's much more active than old, pregnant me. He even built a fantastic snow fort in the back yard and the two guys spray painted the whole thing with food coloring. Evan came in with his hands and face completely tye-dyed.

So this is from a very long time ago... when I was 20 weeks. As of tomorrow I'll be at 31 weeks. Please take your time, baby boy. Your family needs to buy a new home before your arrival! This is also when we found out that Sandocia is a BOY!

So now the cable to video camera has been found and I stupidly uploaded all of the footage to imovie on my computer. I think I overtaxed the program and I can't open imovie without it chugging and chugging. It's stuck on creating thumbnails and I even had it going overnight and still no progress! My poor little laptop was hot to the touch in the morning. Actually, my macbook was laying next to me on the couch all last night. I'm having a rough time sleeping in the bed lately. So Evan had taken over my spot next to Mike and I tossed and turned on the couch while the two of them were happily snoring upstairs in mine and mike's bed. Yes, Evan's a snorer. He's had a constant running nose all winter and he sounds like an old man when he's sleeping.

Anyway, our Sandocia became way more active earlier than Evan was and is now to the point where he's doing somersaults, flips, crunches and such in my belly. And it's contant... He's active all day long! He started pretty much at 21 weeks on the dot, where I didn't feel Evan until about a month later. It's great to watch my belly ripple as I'm sitting on the couch watching tv. When I'm up at night uncomfortable, little Sandocia keeps me company. My stomach literally shakes sometimes and you can see a hard little elbow or knee sticking out. When you push on the hard spot, it jumps back! So amazing...

I really feel that Evan's going to be an awesome big brother. He has to talk to the baby everyday. He pretends to call the baby on the cell phone and asks him questions, but then tells me that he's pretending because "babies can't talk, they just cry." He says he wants to share a room with his brother and I think they will when they're older regardless even if we have the space for them to each have their own room someday. I heard it's a good thing to do when kids are young. Besides, maybe I have my head in the clouds, but I really don't think I'll have much of a problem with jealousy with Evan. He's not a jealous guy and every friend he has has a baby sibling. I hold babies in front of him all the time and he could care less. He doesn't do bad stuff for attention while I'm hanging with the infants, nor does he try to hurt any little ones under the guise of "I'm just playing!" If he did, Mike and I would nip it in the bud before a case of the first-born little overindulged monster emerged (I think that was me with my sister), but I think we're in great shape and won't have too much to worry about. He's so social and loves school, gym class and playdates and plays great with pretty much anyone. Actually, I know the kid is aching for a constant playmate, especially with this crappy SNOW!
