out to dinner

Friday night we had dinner at The Bull & the Bear where Evan modeled his Cabrini shirt from Sarah.

We then changed Evan into his pjs and he drove home.

Just kidding! He just likes to play with the lights, windshield washers, radio, etc.

Funland

The first night at Funland wasn't so Fun. Evan was fighting to keep his eyelids open and wasn't tolerating much of anything. Mike and I were disappointed and put Evan to bed immediately when we walked back to the hotel, but the second night made up for everything! He gave us huge smiles, waved at us from the rides (and he waved at other families too... he thought they were there waving at him).

Here's the first night. Ho hum. Riding with mom and dad is booooooring.

He had more fun with the scary clown.

So tired.

Here's the second night. We went with Mike's coworker Rene, his wife Jennifer and 2 kiddies. Then Mike's other coworker Sheryl and her husband Bill met us.

This is the VERY first time Evan went on a ride by himself. Here he is on the boats,
He also made friends with a the ride attendant and she would wave to him as he skimmed by. This is a big step for us...

This was a little ferris wheel. Much too scary for Evan to go on alone.

And the fire engines... Evan liked steering the back and front at the same time.

Now Mike and I are getting a bit braver. We let Evan go on the cars 3 times! These things actually moved very fast. See his hair flying in the breeze?

Okay. Now we're insane. Neither of us had any idea that this ride spun fast, then lifted into the air... at least a couple of feet above our heads. We were gritting our teeth through this one, but Evan obviously loved it.

Sheryl and Bill hung out with us too. Evan gave them hi fives and pumped his fists after each ride.

Evan's eating habits (and shoes)

Ever since this current batch of teeth have been coming in, Evan's barely eaten anything except for Starbucks pumpkin loaf (only available in PA from what I understand). Sometimes he'll go crazy for pancakes, blueberries, pizza, raisins, the next day - nothing. It's very scary for Mike and I since Evan's so tall and skinny for his age.

One day we stopped to get him ice cream (which he did NOT eat). The owner of the store gave Evan free homemade cookies because he was cute and she felt bad for us. Evan enjoyed flirting with the 2 Russian girls that worked there.

Actually, one day he did eat an entire slice of pizza except for the crust. Here's a rare moment for us at Grotto pizza.

Oh yeah... except for one night when we went out to dinner at Zogg's with one of Mike's coworkers and his family. Then Evan ate grouper, tomatoes, oranges, and my taco shell! He did this right after we told them that Evan doesn't eat anymore.

Here's Zogg's where Evan had his feast. This is the first night we went and he ate nothing. The next night with Mike's coworker & family was when he ate like a champ.

Evan's having a beer while Mike drinks a cool cup of soy milk. Notice the black, hi-top Chuck Taylors he's wearing? I bought them at the outlets a few miles down the street from downtown Rehoboth. They're his second pair of Converses. My sister bought him a pair of red ones that he outgrew at 6 months. Ever since I wanted to get him another pair. I brought Evan into the store to try them on during his nap as he was sleeping! I'm such a bad mommy...

Baby no like sand

Arghhh! How frustrating! Last year he was rolling in it. We would find it on his hiney after every diaper change! What happend?!

WHAHHHHH!

But the face is so cute....

Notice the heavenly white haze on these pictures? I thought our camera was broken, but it just ended up to be Ziggy's fingerprints on the lens.

I'll tell you what he DID like.

And everytime we passed a certain store, he's run in and play with the toy school buses hidden under a shelf.

Rehoboth Beach

Our hotel room was right on the boardwalk and we had an incredible ocean view. Everyday we woke up in the early morning to the sun sparkling on the ocean, schools of dolphins jumping around, and to Evan's cries for booboo from his rental crib. We didn't plan on it, but we ended up staying 2 extra days. We had to switch rooms the last night and lost our view.

While Mike worked the first morning, Evan and I got coffee and played chess.

Oops. The guy in the board game store who sets the pieces up said it was cool, though.

Evan settles down for a nap, exhausted from his mental workout from the chess match.

It rained for a few hours one night. This is the room we had to move to the last night.

But it didn't stop us.

On the ferry - again

And did we go home then? Hell no! Mike picked us up after his business trip so we could join him in Rehoboth for a work retreat. We arrived in Delaware on the ferry, Evan's second time!

Who's the big kid in the ferry playroom?

This is Evan back in the car on the bottom deck of the ferry. How precious.

Memorial Day Part I: Mantime

Memorial day weekend, Mike took Evan and fart machine to Sea Isle to watch his friend Timmy in a triathlon. I got to sleep in at my parents house. Here are the menfolk having some fun, Fun, FUN!

The little red plastic whoopee cushion is fart machine. Evan HATED the sand. Both Mike and I agree that he'd better learn to love it, because we're beach people. Sorry, Ev.

Later that day, Mike and Evan pulled the car down my parents' driveway. Check out Evan's big, strong arm on the steering wheel.

Memorial Day Part II

Later in the day we went to the boardwalk. Check out those cute little jeans and shoes. I bought the shoes a month ago and they're already tight. Evan's big, long feet are officially a size 6 now!

hehehe

Ev loved Olivia's old truck.

Memorial Day Weekend part IV

Mike was traveling for business, so Evan and I stayed with my parents. Here we are meeting Aunt Doris to do some walking on the boardwalk. Check out those big feet!
