At the Pumpkin Patch

This is from the Sunday before Halloween. The day before Mike took Evan out while I had a spa/shopping day (it was soooo nice- I had this amazing full body massage then went shopping downtown on Walnut st.) Anyway, we spent the whole day in Media at this farm place and had a blast. Afterward, we went to dinner at a random restaurant in the town and ran into one of Mike's friends. I'm not saying any more. These pictures pretty much speak for themselves.

One more thing... this is the sweatshirt that Evan's Aunt Kelly gave him last Halloween. It still fits!

This just about sums it up. Boo!

Some Florida stuff

These are from early July. I forgot to post stuff from our 2 week Florida trip.

But first, here's Evan with a stuffed bear at Wilderness Lodge. Grrrrrr

The first week of our trip took place at Disney's Yacht Club hotel. It was a beautiful hotel with an awesome pool with a pirate ship waterslide. Plus it was right on the Disney Boardwalk and a 1 minute walk from Epcot. This was my 8th trip to Disney and I have NEVER stayed in a hotel like this. My parents had always gotten a little hotel room somewhere in Kissimmee. Not that it ever mattered, because we'd only spend of total of 10 minutes in the hotel room anyway. We always opened and closed the parks. However, things are different now with our Evan. We spend a lot more time in hotels with naps, meals, etc.

Evan was very sick and feverish the first few days. He then passed his illness to me and Mike. As you can see here, he's not too excited by the "breakfast with the characters". He fell asleep after this. Poor little guy.

We had adjoining rooms with my mom and our view overlooked the boardwalk. One day Evan shut the adjoining door and was locked in my mom's room while my mom was packing his diaper bag in our room! My mom also had the security latch on her front door, so someone had to be called up to let him out. He thankfully was fine... Here he is rocking out with a pink headband!

And poolside!

One night my mom, Evan and I had drinks at the bar while waiting for Mike to come back from work.

Daddy's home - yay! Let's not tell him about the hotel room incident.

Now time to look so cool.

We spent a lot of time in Disney Village since it was free. Here's Evan with Donald & Daisy.

I entered a hula hoop contest and the kiddies kicked my butt. Evan was so embarrassed.

Godiva was always giving out chocolate samples, so we all had some of those and Evan fell in love with "Skully", or so we call him. It's a skull on a stick that lights up and spins when you push a button. It helped keep Evan occupied on the later nights... Until Skully dropped and stopped lighting up. Damn cheapo toys.

Chocolate good.

Here's Evan and I lounging on chairs on the Boardwalk Hotel.

Now we're on a boat to Wilderness Lodge to see the Hoop De Doo Review (a dinner show). The wilderness island thing is pretty cool. It's only a 10 minute boat ride from the Magic Kingdom. People can camp there and drive around golf cars. It's huge and has a Davie Crockett theme, playgrounds, an animal petting zoo, restaurants, etc. I know this sounds dumb, but Disney is so cool and is worth every penny if you have a child. There's even a boat light show on the water every night.

More of wilderness island...

And the Hoop Dee Doo Review...

Evan played the spoons while I stuffed my face.

It was all you can eat (and drink). Mike made friends with our waitress, Sandy, who kept bringing out the beers. Mike had a serious case of the hiccups while we waited for a boat back to the Magic Kingdom.

It was also my momma's birthday. She was picked out of the crowd. I told the guy she was 25 and he said "It's the 25th anniversary of her 25th birthday!" Afterward he came up and apologized and said "I'm just so not funny." It didn't matter to us, because we all had a bit to drink.

There were buckets of fried chicken, mac & cheese, cornbread, green beans and strawberry shortcake for dessert! They brought out spaghetti and some delicious grilled veggies for me and Evan.

The guy on the far right is the one who made the comment.

After writing this, I wanna go back. More to come on our Florida trip from 3 months ago (back from when Evan turned a year and a half!) he was so young...

Wedding Shower

The families helped plan a wonderful bridal shower at the Deauville in Strathmere. THANK YOU EVERYONE - especially my darling sister. I loved every minute of it (even though it wasn't a surprise. Blame Pre-cana, not Mike). I'm glad I did know about it because I would've shown up with no make-up on, wearing dirty jeans. Here are some highlights.

Evan said, "Oooh, this is lovely. Can I borrow it, mommy? Peas?". Hands off mommy's underwear, Ev. The other menfolk were drinking at the bar during the shower.

During the shower Evan and Elizabeth went swimming in the bay right in back of the restaurant. Evan had no pants on and it was so cute to look out the windows and see his little naked hiney wading in the water (I'm sure the other patrons were not as amused). Mel (Elizabeth's mom) is pretty awesome. She always has a bathing suit for Elizabeth in the car, as well as other essentials. Elizabeth & Evan are pretty good to party or hang out anywhere. Thank God, because we don't stay home often and we bring Evers EVERYWHERE with us. Here's Becky with her pants on.

After the shower we all hung out on the little beach until the gnats attacked. That's Olivia, Samantha, Jessica & Janice on the dock. In the front is the back of Aunt Chicky and my dad's heads.

Here's good ol' Uncle JoJo being drunk again. Just kidding. I don't have an Uncle JoJo.

Here's Aunt Pat, Mike's Ma and Aunt Ella.

Here's my Godmother - Aunt Chicky.

And here's my Becky again.

THANK YOU AGAIN, EVERYONE!!!

weekend in VA

It's been a long time... The camera had been MIA for a long time. First of all, I left it at the Giffords' house in VA, then I "lost" it at my wedding shower at the Deauville. It was actually tucked in the diaper bag's changing pad pocket the whole time. I'm such a dummy. So here's what we did last month...

Here's Mike's birthday. He got this thing for his bike that keeps it stationary. He then set up the basement into the "man room" with a tv and old Playstation to play dvds (since we don't have cable down there). Poor Mike's been pedaling fast and furious down there with the cockroaches.

We then celebrated Mike's birthday once again in VA with Mima, PoPo and the Giffords. Here's Evan and his cousin Jack playing with trains.

Here's the whole gang!

And we'll end it with an eskimo kiss with Aunt Kelly! Awwww

EVAN ARMSTRONG

Evan recently became the owner of a brand new Radio Flyer tricycle and he LOVES it. The tricycle has a steering arm on the back that allows us to push him and steer at the same time. Evan will literally allow you to push him on his new ride for hours, and he's the envy of all the kids on the boardwalk and at the playground.

Here he is in his helmet. Trek bikes, Oakley sunglasses, and all other bike gear manufacturers - this is the new face of American cycling and we are available for contract negotiations Monday through Friday after nap time.

A side view of the bike after the ride. Note the absence of shorts. Evan likes to show off his newly toned leg muscles to all the girls!

After a long ride, sometimes you just need to collect your thoughts and chill. Right now, Evan is thinking...Bike again, peas (please)!

I CAN RIDE MY BIKE WITH NO HANDLEBARS...

Later on that night, Steph, Brit, Sarah and I headed up to the boardwalk to take Evan on the rides. Evan could not get enough of his bike. Normally squirmy, he jumped on the bike right after we parked, and rode it the entire time we were on the boards.

Evan then tried to get some part time work as an Ocean City summer bike cop. They said he's fast enough on his ride, but claimed that the majority of the work of a bike cop happens past Evan's 7:30 p.m. bed time. Evan said 'Whatev-ah, rent-a-cop!" and pealed out to get a f-r double E sample of fudge!

We couldn't pass up getting a shot with Stinky Pirate Pete, the most feared pirate south of Johnson's Popcorn!
