Cute Shaun Pictures

Hey everyone, Brittany wedding pictures are coming up soon! Brittany and Josh have stuff up at weddingsnap.com and the album code is britandjosh. Alas I have a flip phone from 1947 so I didn't put anything up, but many people posted some great things. In the meantime...

Hold on to your hats! It's the Cronin Brothers!

Shaun up close.

Shaun drooling.

Shaun pondering life.

Shaun with mommy. I posted this because I actually like this photo of myself. I usually hate how I look in photos. Too bad Shaun isn't looking up!

Yo ho!

The five of us walked to the library one evening for a pirate event. The kids dressed up, but Noah wanted to wear a pirate tunic too... So I put a fireman jacket on him and said, "Oh look here's a pirate costume!". And he fell for it. I hope my kids never grow up.
Oh, they're so tough.

Note to everyone (especially grandparents):
PLEASE do not purchase another pirate costume for Noah. He is PERFECTLY happy with a fireman jacket. Our costume box is overflowing with piled up costumes. So is our poor little toy room. Overflowing. Mike and I are drowning in kids stuff.

Today I went into the bathroom and saw Noah was sitting on the potty pooping. He had his foot in his mouth while doing so, sucking on his big toe with a big smile on his face. I have so much to tell his future girlfriend (Amelia).

Shaun is 2 Months!

Here I am so cute, chillin in my room!

We went to Shaun's well visit today and he's over 13 lbs! He's in the 80s percentile for height and in the 90s for weight - he's chunky for a strictly breast-fed baby! He had a check-up the week after he was born and he was back to his birth weight plus 6 oz (they usually want them to gain back to their birth weight by 2 weeks old). My biggest boy to date! Shaun really likes to eat...

Shaun with his brothers - the Cronin boys! Doesn't Shaun kind of look like Mike??

He looks so much like his brothers when they were two month old babies. Just look and see...

Evan at 2 months

Noah at 2 months.

Noah's First Day of School!

Noah goes 2 half days a week! Here's his first day. We had a couple of trial days already in August where I would go with him and we'd stay for an hour to get used to it.

He's all smiles here, but he cried the whole day after we left. Then half a day the next time. The third day I had to pick him up because he just cried. His friend Jonny just started too, but it didn't make a difference. I almost pulled him out of the class for good... I asked him about school and he'd reply, "I bied (cried) for Mommy and Daddy. I bied and bied." Sometime Noah replaces consonants like "g" and "c" with "b". I have no idea why!

Here's Jonny too! How can you cry when your school is so cute?? Actually his fourth day went really, really well, but I had to bribe him the same way I did to potty train him - with M&Ms! I promised him some if he had fun at school and didn't cry. It worked! He cried for 5 minutes. Shaun and I sat in the parking lot and waited. I told his teacher to call us there if he was upset and we'd just go back in a get him, but he was fine. I called at 10 am from the house later on and he was having snack and laughing! I knew if he'd just give it a chance he'd love it. Scrubbing fake bugs in tubs of soapy water sure beats watching me nurse Shaun all morning!

I just had to post this picture when the bus was about to stop to pick up Evan one day. He gave his little brother a kiss goodbye - aw!

Evan was student of the day! From this day forward he officially loves school. Loves it. He had to pack 3 things in the student of the day box. He packed his Halloween costume from last year (a hot wheels driver costume), a skateboard slap bracelet and a pair of glasses that's supposed to make sidewalk chalk look 3D. He's so cute!

Evan's First Day of Kindergarten!!

Can you believe our first baby is going to Kindergarten? Seriously, he was just born.

Noah hangs out in a tree. His face is covered in red fever spots.

Evan gets in the tree too. No, we didn't purposely make this shot dream-like. It's just a fingerprint on the camera lens.

Here comes the bus!

Evan came home and we asked what was his favorite part of school and he replied, "The End." We asked if he like it and he said, "No. Hated it." Great!

One... Two... Three... Yay Kindergarten!

Soccer Made In Court House

Fall is in the air, and Evan had his first soccer game last weekend! Here he is with his biggest fan, directing him to smile at the camera.
Noah looking sad because he cant' play on his brother's team.
Evan played goalie during his first game. It wasn't long after this shot when the other team scored. We have to work on position play just a little bit.
Finally, here is a shot of the boys enjoying their bunk bed. They prefer sleeping together in the bottom rather than separately, which is nice.

Shaun turns 1 month

Hello, everybody!

I know this is a couple weeks late, but the whole family has been sick and feverish, starting with Evan, then Noah, then me and Shaun, now Mike. These photos were actually taken 2 weeks ago. No cheating.

Shaun's eyes have a lot of brown and gray in them. I can't wait to see what color they'll change to! Look at him... So cute. He definitely looks like a Cronin baby. Our baby boys have a distinct look to them, dontcha think?

Shaun's little room (previously Evan's room). This is our nice peaceful spot where he nurses when his brothers are downstairs acting like banshees. We sit facing the windows and let the breeze blow through our hair. On Shaun's little bald head.

Shaun will stretch his neck as far as it will go to stare at the little pictures on his wall. He loves them. And he loves the ceiling fan... Just like Noah did when he was a baby!

Our Little Shaunie

This is my first post in a month... Thank you, Mikey for keeping up with the blog! So as you all know, Shaun Daniel Cronin was born on Friday, July 27, 2012 at 3:27pm. He was born via c-section and it was the worst of my 3 deliveries. I sat for days at the hospital waiting for labor to kick up. Shaun at that point was 9 days late and was estimated to be well over 9 lbs. A doctor (not my doctor) came in and within the first 2 minutes of me meeting him told me that I was having a c-section... Even after giving birth vaginally to the other two. I was in tears... I pleaded, I waited... but apparently the theory is that he was too big to move down and kick start active labor. And the doctor wasn't going to induce me. So even though I was having contractions for weeks, they weren't strong enough to push my big, fat Shaunie out.

Ironically, the morning of the c-section I had the most intense labor pains and for the first time since the pregnancy and this time they didn't stop. The continued for hours and became worse and worse. I was distraught and tried to cancel the cesarean scheduled for later that day. But by this point my water had broken over 24 hours ago and time was not on my side. Plus I was still only 2 cm dilated. So there I went in crying to my c-section, contracting the whole time. Then after the morphine everything was awesome!

Despite all that crappy crap, I got the most beautiful baby in the whole world (one of the 3 most beautiful babies). Shaun was born 9 lbs. 2 oz. with those inky, dark blue newborn eyes that most newies have and a head of dark hair. His dark hair is already falling out to reveal a bald head and I have no idea was his eye color is going to be. Right now they are darkening around the the outside and lightening in the middle.

He is awesome. More than awesome. The easiest of my 3 kids. He only gets up 1x a night. He sleeps most of the day. He only cries when he's hungry or tired. He smiles now, coos and passes out for hours. So sweet! He's not a big fan of being outside yet. We've been taking him around town, but he's fussy when we do. We took the kids and Sarah to the boardwalk one night to go on the rides and Shaun wasn't too happy with the noise and the lights. He'd rather be home sleeping.

What hasn't been easy is something called thrush. It's an infection in Shaun's mouth that spread to my breasts and has made breast feeding very VERY painful. For the first 2 weeks I thought it was Shaun's latch or something I was doing wrong. I had awful sores on my boobies and I would cringe every single time Shaun was hungry. We visited a lactation consultant and found out what it was. It's tricky to get rid of it so it's getting better, but still not gone.

Also, Noah has had a hard time handling things. He's been getting up in the middle of the night screaming for Daddy. Even though he's sleeping right next to his brother (Evan moved down from the top bunk). Also he ignored me for a week. He wanted nothing to do with me when I got home from the hospital. He only wanted Daddy and Grandmom. Sometimes he would cry when Mike left the room and I would say, "But MOMMY's here!" and he would scream bloody murder. He was fine with Shaun, but he hated me. He also has peed his pants to spite me. We got him potty trained literally a week before Shaun was born. He still wears diapers during his nap and bedtime, but he wears underpants the rest of the day, even out. He even refuses to pee in his bathing suit in the ocean. He insists on going potty. But then recently I had him in a time out and he looked at me angrily while peeing through his underwear, soaking the carpet. We've had several more accidents since then.

But things are getting better! Life with 3 kids is hard, but we're getting there. Noah is starting to love me again. He's been going potty by himself now because of necessity. Mainly because I'm always nursing and I can't get to him in time. He'll pull up the stool, stand on it, pee in the potty, flush the toilet and then not wash his hands.

"Noah have you washed your hands?"

"No."

"Please go wash your hands."

"No"

He even put the step stool potty seat on the toilet so he could poop one time. But he didn't put down the toilet seat, so the seat and his hiney fell into the toilet. Mostly he needs me or Mike there when he poops. Mostly Mike. It's the only perk of him favoring Daddy.

Evan loves LOVES his Shaun and kisses him every chance he gets. The thrush is better and we're starting to get somewhat back to normal again. We are so blessed with our new baby boy!

Here's all my guys! Just a note to everyone... There will be no more Cronin babies coming from us. 3 is the magic number and we are DONE.
